The effect of fruit load on the chemical thinning of peaches, cv. Southland

The effect of fruit load on the chemical thinning of peaches, cv. Southland

Diradamento chimico e meccanico dei frutti nel pesco e nel melo Bologna, May 1974: Sansavini, S : New fruit thinning techniques: an open question: Nuove tecniche di diradamento dei frutti: problema aperto: 29-34

Trees were hand thinned 31 days from full bloom to leave 3000, 2000 or 1000 fruit/tree and were then immediately treated with 60 p.p.m. CEPA (ethephon). The proportion of fruit thinned by CEPA was then found to be directly correlated with the numbers left by hand thinning.
