, : The effect of irrigation water quality on the growing medium. Acta Horticulturae (82): 201-212

The effects of 11 ion irrigation water constituents were studied in trials with rooted azaleas (Rhododendron simsii) Ambrosius, Vriesea splendens, Cordyline terminalis Prince Albert, Calathea makoyana or Dieffenbachia picta grown either in beds or in pots and cultivated during a 6-month period (June-November). Growing media were coniferous litter, sphagnum peat and a 1:1 mixture of coniferous litter:oak leaf mould. The element contents of substrate extracts and plant leaves were analyzed.
