The effect of okra stalk support on yield and yield components of two varieties of cowpea

Okra (Hibiscus abelmoschus) stems left standing in the field provided a suitable support for 2 climbing cowpea and produced significant seed yield increases of 58 and 32%, resp. Number of pods/plant, pod length and seed wt. were increased by support.
