In oat plants grown in pots, (a) a wind velocity of 1.4 m/s increased transpiration to 390 kg/dm2 h from 260 mg (b) under conditions of still air. Average plant heights were 70 and 63 cm under (b) and (a), respectively, and plant weights 0.66 and 0.56 g DM/plant.
