The nectar raspberry, Rubus idaeus X Rubus articus - a new cultivated plant

, : The nectar raspberry, Rubus idaeus X Rubus articus - a new cultivated plant. Annales Agriculturae Fenniae 15(2): 168-174

Heija was selected from the progeny of R. idaeus 'Malling Promise X Merva, where the latter is a cultivar selected from the F3 of R. idaeus X R. arcticus. The morphological characters and yield of Heija are similar to those of R. idaeus but the fruit taste and the qualitative composition of the fruit aroma distillate are similar to those of R. arcticus. Unlike Merva, Heija is self fertile. The fruit is good for fresh consumption and freezing.
