In tests conducted to ascertain how long eggs, larvae, nymphs and adults of Dermacentor marginatus (Sulz.) can survive under water, it was found that engorged females survived 9 days' immersion and were able to lay eggs from which larvae hatched in due course. Nine of 10 females died after 11 days' immersion.
