The production of Entobakterin, a preparation of spores and endotoxin of Bacillus thuringiensis var. galleriae, in the USSR has so far been based on wild strains of the bacillus found in nature. These differ morphologically, are not highly productive and possess little resistance to lysis. Mutation has been tested as a means of obtaining more potent strains with greater consistency of character.
