Yield and tree growth of seven 'Valencia' orange type cultivars on four rootstocks

Orange cvs Campbell (old line), Campbell (nucellar), Frost (nucellar), Olinda, Cutter, Wood and Chapman were budded on rough lemon, sour orange or Cleopatra and Willowleaf mandarins. Trees were planted at 3 locations in 1959 and the yields obtained in the 7 years 1964-1971 are recorded. Campbell (old line) produced the highest yield at all locations. Fruit shape and quality were satisfactory and tree growth vigorous. Up to 1966, trees on rough lemon rootstocks had the highest yield.
