Polyjoprivredna Znanstvena Smotra 40(50): 71-83



Transferrin (Tf) types were studied in (i) 593 Black Pied and (ii) 456 Simmental cows on large farms in Croatia. Mean 305-day 5th lactation (values for cows with <5 lactations were extrapolated) milk yields were (i) 5198 and (ii) 4491 kg (P < 0.01); and mean corresponding fat contents of 455 (i) and 380 (ii) cows were 3.75 and 3.81% (P < 0.01). Relationships between Tf type and milk yields and fat contents and yields were calculated. Results are tabulated in detail.
