Gamma -glutamyl transpeptidase: nonidentity with secretory immunoglobulins and free secretory component

Gamma -glutamyl transpeptidase: nonidentity with secretory immunoglobulins and free secretory component

Federation Proceedings 35(3): 272

The experiments reported show that gamma -glutamyl transpeptidase (GGTP) can be separated from secretory component and all immunoglobulins in human and bovine milk using DEAE-cellulose chromatography. Gel filtration experiments showed that GGTP in milk is present as an aggregate of > 5 X 106 daltons.
