Four-week-old chicks, ducklings and golden hamsters, and adult canaries were inoculated nasally or intraperitoneally with pigeon herpesvirus. No clinical symptoms, histological lesions or sero-conversions were found, and attempts to recover the virus were likewise negative. Similar results were obtained when 4-week-old pigeons were inoculated tracheally with avian infectious laryngotracheitis virus.
