A comparative study of miconazole nitrate pessaries and Nystan vaginal tablets in the treatment of vaginal candidiasis

A clinical trial was carried out with 74 women suffering from vaginal Candida albicans infection, confirmed mycologically. Of these, 34 received nystatin tablets and 40 received miconazole pessaries for 14 days. Mycological cure was achieved in 100% of those receiving miconazole and 94% of those receiving nystatin.
