31 beef cows were given an injection of 6 mg oestradiol + 3 mg of the progestogen SC 21009 and an ear implant of 6 mg SC 21009 for 9 days (group 1), 35 cows received 25 mg PGF2 alpha , followed by a 2nd injection for cows not exhibiting oestrus within 13 days of the 1st injection (group 2), and 35 cows received no treatment (controls).
