A study of evaluative perceptions of ragi growing farmers about high yielding ragi varieties in Karnataka

This study was undertaken in major ragi (millet) growing tracts of Karnataka by interviewing a sample of 150 ragi growing farmers selected at random. The study points out that the high yielding ragi varieties in general performed well. The majority of the farmers were growing 'Purna', 'Shakti', H-22 and Indaf 1 and 3 varieties of ragi. Perceptions of the farmers growing these varieties, indicated many advantages of these varieties over the local varieties.
