In pot experiments over a 4-yr period, maize IHAR-262, kale, winter wheat Kaukaz and lucerne Kleszczewska were grown as experimental plants on a loamy soil with an acid subsoil. The soil was supplied with N, P and K and various rates of lime were applied at a soil depth of 0-20, 21-40 or 0-40 cm (A, B and A + B horizons, resp.).
