In this outline of work on breeding sweet pepper and egg plant for resistance to Verticillium dahliae and cucumber for resistance to powdery mildew (Erysiphe cichoracearum + Sphaerotheca fuliginea), Pseudomonas lachrymans and Cladosporium cucumerinum, some of the resistant varieties recently bred are listed, including the Verticillium-resistant sweet peppers 343 (obtained from Podarok Moldovy which is also highly resistant) and Rubinovyi (from Podarok Moldovy X Novogogoshary), the Verticillium-resistant egg plants Dnestrovets (egg plant from the Dnestr region) and Nezhnyi 36 and the cucumber Lel', which has good resistance to powdery mildew, Ps. lachrymans and C. cucumerinum.
