Chemotherapeutic effects of 4-isothiocyanato-4'-nitrodiphenylamine (C9333-Go/CGP 4540) on infections with Nematospiroides dubius, Hymenolepis diminuta, Hymenolepis nana and Spirometra mansonoides

Groups of 5 mice were infected with Nematospiroides dubius and given 4-isothiocyanato-4'-nitrodiphenylamine (CGP 4540) in doses of 25 to 200 mg/kg body-weight. After 5 days no eggs were found in the faeces and in mice given 100, 150 or 200 mg/kg no adult worms were recovered after 8 days. Doses of 50 or 100 mg/kg were effective against Hymenolepis diminuta in rats and doses of 50, 100 or 200 mg/kg eliminated H. nana infection from mice.
