Colostral immunity following simultaneous immunization of pregnant sows against Aujeszky's disease and leptospirosis

Colostral immunity following simultaneous immunization of pregnant sows against Aujeszky's disease and leptospirosis

Veterinariya, Moscow, USSR (3): 36-38

Three groups each of 9 sows were inoculated with live "GNKI" Aujeszky's disease (AD) vaccine and (at a different part of the body) polyvalent leptospirosis vaccine (two doses, 2 weeks apart) either before service, or during the 1st or 2nd halves of gestation. 2 other groups were inoculated with only 1 of the 2 vaccines, while a 6th group served as unvaccinated controls. Colostral immunity to AD only was present in the piglets of sows immunized before service or early in pregnancy.
