Community participation in rural development: study of seven selected villages in Sri Lanka: ; iv+201

A collection of studies of villages in Sri Lanka in which the (Buddhist) Sarvodaya Shramadana Movement is active, is presented. In three of the villages its work has been seen as successful, in the other four its activities have generally resulted in failure. The studies cover such aspects as education, reaching the poorest, and community involvement in development efforts.
