Control of rhizome rot of ginger cultivated successively and protectively for immature rhizome production in plastic house

Control of rhizome rot of ginger cultivated successively and protectively for immature rhizome production in plastic house

Proceedings of the Kansai Plant Protection Society (22): 7-11

Pythium zingiberum was not consistently isolated from rotted ginger tissues and the disease did not develop when seeds from areas free from rhizome rot were sown in soil fumigated with methyl bromide. Disease incidence was reduced by treatment of seed with echlomezol and soil with methyl bromide. Further spread was prevented by applications of echlomezol as a drench round sources of primary infection.
