Cutterbar losses in rape seed harvesting and suggestions for their reduction

Cutterbar losses in rape seed harvesting and suggestions for their reduction

Agrartechnik 29(4): 148-150

The influence of different variables on the level of cutterbar losses was investigated over 2 seasons. The distribution of the losses across the cutterbar was determined using a number of collecting trays and the losses were related to various factors, like stubble height, weediness of the stand, reel and reel tine setting, forward speed and direction of approach in a laid crop.
