Determination of fatty acid composition of membrane lipids of leaves of potato species of different frost resistance

A method for accelerated separation of glycerolipids from plant leaves by means of thin-layer silicate-gel chromatography is suggested. The fatty-acid composition of total lipids, monoglactosyldiglyceride and phosphatidylcholine in leaves of Solanum acaule (frost-resistant) and S. tuberosum (susceptible) was determined. Monoglactosyldiglyceride consisted mainly of linolenic and hexatrienic acids and phosphatidylcholine mainly of linoleic, linolenic and palmitic acids.
