Rats and diets were those of the preceding abst. Mammary adenocarcinomata without or with hepatic carcinomata occurred in 67 of the rats. Neoplasms developed more slowly in rats given 0.5 or 2.5 mg/kg than in those not given Se or given 0.1 mg/kg. Rats not given Se or given 0.1 mg/kg died earlier than those given 0.5 or 2.5 mg/kg. Mammary adenocarcinomata in rats given Se occurred predominantly in the thoracic region; the tumours were firm and easily removed.
