The use of 4 supplements for 4 weeks, beginning 1 week before mating between 7 February and April 1, was tested in an attempt to increase lambing rates. Supplements of lupin grain, freshly cut lucerne, wheat or wheat with 3% urea and sulphur were each given at 0, 0.17, 0.34 or 0.51 kg daily to 1200 maiden Border Leicester X Merino ewes grazing on annual pasture in northeastern Victoria.
