Effect of dry versus normal and late sowing on the yield of some drilled rice-cultivars in the rainfed-upland of Chotanagpur

In trials with 6 rice grown under rain-fed conditions on uplands of Chotanagpur, Bihar, normal sowing with the onset of the monsoon rains gave the best results. When the onset of the monsoon rains was delayed beyond 20 June, dry sowing about 10 days before the anticipated date of the onset of the monsoon rains was better than late sowing beyond 15 July.
