Effect of growth regulators on leaf growth, photosynthetic pigments and seed yield of berseem (Trifolium alexandrinum L.)

Foliar sprays of 10-25 mg GA, 50-100 mg Phosfon-D, 25-50 mg ascorbic acid, (AA), 500-1000 mg B-995 or 500-1000 mg chlormequat/l were given to 30-day-old berseem plants and again at the flower initiation stage after 3 cuts. Compared with leaves of untreated plants, Phosphon-D, B-995 and chlormequat produced small and narrow leaves, while GA and AA increased their laminal growth. All growth substances except GA increased the percentage of DM accumulation by leaves.
