Effect of soil-moisture and spacing on grain and stover production of sorghum (Sorghum bicolor L. Moench) in the irrigated desert

Effects of water-stress and cultural practices on grain sorghum (Sorghum bicolor (L.) Moench) plants were determined and the nutritional value of sorghum stover was evaluated. Six commercial cultivars were grown at two plant spacings under wet and dry treatment conditions. The wet treatment plots received optimum irrigation (56.0 cm); the dry, a single irrigation (30.5 cm). Precipitation during the growing season was 11.09 cm.
