Effect of the foliar application of Alar, Ethrel, ABA and CCC on the frost resistance of peach trees

, : Effect of the foliar application of Alar, Ethrel, ABA and CCC on the frost resistance of peach trees. Acta Horticulturae (81): 67-71

CCC at 1000 and 2000 p.p.m., Alar at 1000 p.p.m., abscisic acid at 40 p.p.m. and Ethrel at 1000 and 1500 p.p.m. were applied in July (or in some cases August) to trees of the peach Siewka Rakoniewicka. Ethrel proved injurious to the shoots, while Alar and abscisic acid gave inconsistent results. CCC applied at 100 p.p.m. in July slightly increased cold tolerance by inhibiting extension growth and thus accelerating leaf fall in autumn.
