Effect of the type of planting material on banana production

In trials with the banana Dominico the following types of planting material were used: (1) corms, (2) inverted corms, (3) corms with a shoot attached, (4) corms with a 1.5 m long pseudostem, (5) sword suckers, (6) sections of corm weighing 1 kg, (7) sections of corm weighing 3 kg, and (8) water suckers. Corms with a shoot (3) were the earliest to flower (48 weeks after planting) and to produce bunches (65 weeks after planting) and their yield was more concentrated than in the other variants.
