Effect of vapam on three ectotrophic mycorrhizae-forming fungi in vitro

Laboratory trails were carried out to study the effect of a nematicide, vapam (metham-sodium), at 1-10 000 p.p.m. on pure cultures of Amanita citrina, Tricholoma pessundatum, and T. saponaceum on agar. A concn. of 1 p.p.m. vapam significantly increased mycelial growth of T. pessundatum but depressed growth of the other 2 spp.; 10 p.p.m. completely suppressed T. pessundatum and significantly reduced mycelial production in the other 2 spp.
