Effect of various sowing dates on grain yield and some yield components in triticale

In a field trial in 1972 at Hostovce in the maize-growing region, triticale K-64 given adequate NPK was sown on 9 Oct., 23 Oct. or 7 Nov. Delay in sowing decreased grain yield from 4.74 t/ha to 4.26 and 2.07 t with the 2 later dates, resp. and decreased number of plants/m2 and number of ears/m2.
