Effect of zinc and phosphorus fertilization on the content and uptake of N, P, K, Ca, Mg, Fe, Mn and Zn by maize and wheat

Maize Ganga Safed-2 and wheat Safed Lerma were grown on a medium black Zn-deficient soil given 0, 10 or 20 p.p.m. Zn and 0, 185 or 370 p.p.m. P. Application of 10 or 20 p.p.m. Zn significantly reduced P, Ca, Mg, Fe and Mn contents, whereas N and K contents were little affected. Application of 185 and 370 p.p.m. P significantly increased P, Mg and Mn contents and slightly increased N content. Fe and Zn content decreased significantly and K and Ca contents were unaffected.
