Effect of zinc on the yield and technological value of sugar beet

In field experiments over a three-year period, the effects of zinc sulphate powder applied to beet tops on the root and leaf yields, sugar content, soluble ash content and amide nitrogen were studied. The highest increments of root yield (4.6%) and digestible sugar (5.8%) were observed with 10 kg Zn per ha.
