Efficiency of mixed feeds with different amounts of maize and sorghum for meat chickens

Efficiency of mixed feeds with different amounts of maize and sorghum for meat chickens

Lucrari Stiintifice, Institutul Agronomic "Nicolae Balcescu", D1978 20/21: 91-94

To 56 days old 700 crossbred chickens in batteries were given a mixed diet based on maize or with 25, 50, 75 or 100% of the maize replaced by sorghum. The 2 diets with most sorghum had extra fat and that with all the maize replaced by sorghum had methionine added as well. Replacing maize by sorghum did not affect growth or feed efficiency. There was no difference in chemical composition of the carcass among groups.
