, : Energy conservation and plant growth by using double plastic on glass greenhouses. Acta Horticulturae (76): 305-311

Covering glasshouses with 2 plastic sheets which were separated by 0.65 cm of air reduced fuel costs for heating by 65%, although the light entering the glasshouse was reduced by 18%. Tomato fruit numbers were unaffected by the reduction in light but size was reduced, so that yields fell by 0.36-0.86 kg/plant.
