Estimating sprinkler irrigation costs. In: Water sources and irrigation economics 'DISC' development of irrigation and speciality crops

The first step in an economic evaluation is to estimate irrigation system costs. This section discusses a procedure to estimate costs of the initial investment, annual ownership and annual operations for alternative irrigation systems. A worksheet is included. The range in costs per acre presented emphasizes the need to estimate costs for the specific conditions under which a producer will be operating before a commitment is made to purchase an irrigation system.
