From initial liveweight of 25 kg, 64 pigs in 16 groups, each of 2 castrated males and 2 sows, were fed 3 times a day. The feed had barley 55, wheat 9, maize 12.4, soya 10% and 90/106 arsanilic acid. At 55 to 60 kg liveweight, 4 feed mixtures with slightly different nutritive values were given; method of feeding differed among groups. During this second period the average daily weight gain was from 0.684 to 0.731 kg. The greatest daily weight gain of 0.742 kg was with feeding to appetite.
