Experiments on the irrigation of trellised wine grapes in western Sicily. I. The effect of the time and number of irrigations on the productivity of four varieties of white wine grapes



Vignevini 6(10): 47-54



Irrigations with 750 m3 water per ha were applied to grapevines at 1, 2 or 3 of the following stages: fruit set, the start of colouring, and ripening. In the Catarratto Comune the first two irrigations improved yield and the third increased yield and sugar production. For Grecanico and Damaschino the first two irrigations were adequate.
