In field trials, application of 30, 60, 120 or 150 kg N/ha as urea increased the seed yields of Guinea grass but neither N, nor 45 or 90 kg P2O5, nor 22.5 or 45 kg K2O/ha affected seed germination. Storage for 75-105 days considerably increased germination. Germination was higher in seed stored in paper bags than in seed stored in polythene bags.
