Family dominance in a village society: the Mahantegama village, Beminiwatte Agricultural Productivity area

This survey of Mahantegama village in the Central Highlands of Sri Lanka examines the struggle of individuals and groups to maintain themselves in a commanding position in the village. Land ownership, tenurial organizations, and village organizations and activities are treated as indicators of the nature of this process.
