Features of the cestode fauna (Tetraphyllidea) of sharks from the Patagonian shelf and from the north-western Atlantic

The cestode fauna of Prionace glauca, Squalus fernandinus, S. acanthias, Galeorhinus vitaminicus, Scyliorhinus caniculus, Squatina squatina (the 2 last species were free from cestodes) from the Patagonian shelf and from the north-western Atlantic was compared. The largest number of species (5) was found in P. glauca from the Georges bank, although the worm burden was very high in both regions. Only one or 2 species were recorded in the other sharks.
