Field trials of several formulations of pyrethroids and one organophosphate for the control of Cydia nigricana (F.) were carried out in commercial crops of dry harvest peas in the UK in 1978 and 1979. When the insecticides were applied at dates forecast from data obtained from commercial pheromone-trapping systems, all treatments resulted in similar reduction of damage to the crops, which differed significantly from that in untreated plots.
