In early-flowering varieties, flowering following photoperiodic stimulus was faster and stronger and floral initiation was 20 to 25 days earlier than in late-flowering varieties. The varieties studied differed in inflorescence emergence, due to differences in floral initiation time, and in the period from cane maturity to flowering.
