The utilization of formic acid in ensiling wilted green forage was modelled using the variables: success of conservation, rate of DM losses, opt. wilting time and usefulness of formic acid addition to ensiled green forage. For opt. silage, green forage wilted for 2 days was ensiled with or without formic acid depending on the DM content reached.
