Lines of T. aestivum 'Salmon' with the cytoplasm of 18 Aegilops and Triticum species were developed and crossed with Salmon, Chinese Spring or Jones Fife pollen. Haploids were produced at a frequency of 7.1-33.6% from plants with Ae. umbellulata, Ae. biuncialis, Ae. columnaris, Ae. triaristata (6x), Ae. kotschyi, Ae. variabilis, Ae. triuncialis and Ae. caudata cytoplasm. Haploid-inducing cytoplasms were of the C, Cu or S type.
