Heterosis for yield and grain size in six-rowed winter X two-rowed spring barley F1 hybrids

Grain yields per plant, 1000-grain weight and percentage heterosis for these characters are presented for the F1 hybrids from twelve crosses between three Hordeum vulgare (winter) and three H. distichum (spring) lines. Heterosis over the spring parent was apparent for grain yield in ten combinations and for 1000-grain weight in eight.
