Histological examination of the uterus of pregnant gilts, following hormonal induction of puberty

Histological examination of the uterus of pregnant gilts, following hormonal induction of puberty

Monatshefte fur Veterinarmedizin 35(11): 414-417

Since induction of early puberty could be of great economic value in pig breeding, it was desirable to know whether such a hormonal induction would cause abnormalities in the endometrium. One group of 31 gilts, 200-220 days of age, were injected with 500 IU of pregnant mare serum gonadotropin (PMSG) and 250 IU of human chorionic gonadotropin (HCG). They were inseminated 96 and 120 h after the HCG injection.
