Histopathology and histochemistry of insects treated with chemosterilants. VII. On the corpora cardiaca of Periplaneta americana (L) treated with hempa

Histopathology and histochemistry of insects treated with chemosterilants. VII. On the corpora cardiaca of Periplaneta americana (L) treated with hempa

Bulletin of Environmental Contamination and Toxicology 20(5): 672-673

In this seventh part of a series on histopathology and histochemistry of insects treated with chemosterilants, an account is given of laboratory tests carried out in India on the effects of injections with hempa on the corpora cardiaca of last-instar nymphs of Periplaneta americana (L.). Histopathological observations showed that such treatment caused a reduction in the neurosecretory cells and damage to the intrinsic cells.
