Homoserine dehydrogenase and homoserine in germinatic peas

Homoserine dehydrogenase and homoserine in germinatic peas

Agrochimica 22(2): 106-113

In germinating etiolated pea Quimper Glory seeds, protein depletion from the cotyledons was relatively slow during the 1st wk of germination after which it became rapid along with a sharp increase in shoot proteins. Homoserine dehydrogenase activity reached a peak after 5, 8-10 and 10 days in the cotyledons, root and shoot, resp. No significant inhibition by threonine was apparent.
