Honey production in relation to brood quantity and temperament. Material from three apiaries in 1977

Honey production in relation to brood quantity and temperament. Material from three apiaries in 1977

Biavel, Sveriges Lantbruksuniversitet (2): 19

Records from 100 colonies in 3 Swedish apiaries were analysed. The correlation between temperament and honey yield was slightly negative (i.e. gentle bees were more productive than aggressive ones), but the correlation was not statistically significant. The positive correlation between brood quantity and honey yield was statistically significant.
